I think that's your Wii Friends Code, not your Brawl Friends Code. Either that, or you typed it out incorrectly.

That's his brawl friend code, it's 12 digits, Wii friend code is 16 digits.

Have you tried adding it? I think he accidentally hit one number instead of another because Brawl keeps spewing garbage at me about how it isn't a real code.
