. For people who doesnt know what the G20 summit is all about, the canadian government has decided to host the meeting and gather all top 20 leaders around the world in one place. To discuss about world wide issues and to help other countries. This angered a lot of citizens from toronto and out because the government spent 1bill+ dollars on security. People started to protest this and started to smash banks, store windows, and blowing up cars and police cars. With this riot happening today the subway lines got shut down and downtown toronto is basically %$@&#. Work got canceled and shopping mall got evacuated or shut down due to the danger that might happen.
My own opinion: Going on strike in an uncivilized way is a waste of time and is just adding to the problem that the government has. For 1, this 1billion security fund would not have happen if people decided to become civilized and less insane. 2. what is the point in smashing starbucks, clothing stores, blowing up random cars and police cars? nothing... they are just making the g20 summit a reason to run wild and put half the community on hold. I am extremely angry because i cant go to work for 2weeks, go clubbing, shopping, or hang out with friends downtown because of these stupid riots >_>. i really seee no point for people to act violently over this matter...im not saying they shouldnt go on strike but do it in a civilized way?
