LOVE the story. It has some great voice-acted cutscenes too, some of which are really really sad. The in-game dialouge is HILARIOUS though, it's hard not to grin at the %$@&#-ry of some of it (There's a part where you think two NPCs are talking about something totally inappropriate, and then realize it's something else entirely. Then there's the drug dealer bit LMAO!). The localization team must have had a lot of fun....
Gameplay is decent, but there are a few glitches. Ally AI is TERRIBLE. The soundtrack is nothing amazing. Multiplayer is surprisingly robust, with it's own play mode and NPCs. You can build up a multiplayer character by yourself, then unleash it when you actually have friends with RoF to play with.
Oh, and Cu Chaspel is soooooo coooooooool. Looks comical at first (My first reaction was ohmygawd Square Enix could do so so much better than the default monstrous-looking guy with glowing red eyes that is just so....blah...and %$@&# PINK HAIR ON A VILLAIN I SHALL GO DIE NOW) but after the first major cutscene where you hear his voice, and see him kill the protagonist's father in a Heart Wrenching Cutscene...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!aaa

That game looks fun, but I haven't bought a DS game since Pokeyman Diamond. -_- I have the cube version, but never beat it.

I prefer the Final Fantasy games that aren't in 3D.

I considered buying it, but I've also considered selling my DS. D:
Off-Topic: Toff if you want I can sell you a Gamecube so you can enjoy some of those zelda games (memory card not included).

I don't have a DS, so no point for me to think about buying it yet. :\

That's an interesting offer, Rook, thanks, but shipping rates from the US will, probably, kill me, and also I'll need it to be able to play backup copies or something, 'cause I haven't seen a single Gamecube disk in my life, they're very hard to find here for some reason. So I don't think this will be a good idea.

Chrystal Chronicles is some sort of a spin-off, it's not like the other Final Fantasies (just so you know).

It's not an online game is it? If it was, I'd almost get it in a heartbeat. (mario kart ftw)

The fact that you can't play multiplayer over wifi is lamesauce. The only thing you can you is trade moogles (they store items) so it's like an item-transfer service.
The problem is that apparently even local games lag REALLY REALLY bad so if a wifi multiplayer game was possible it would be horrendous.
