No, Tubbie. Right now this game will never end, and Ether simply offered to have a word we must make in the end (in the very same way, by simply changing one letter to create a new word).
Here's a live example:
Starting word - "sale". Final word - "time".
Person 1: sale
Person 2: tale
Person 3: tile
Person 4: time.
The end.
Got it? You change a single letter every time, just like before, the only difference is that instead of simply making up some random words, you try to make words that will help others to form the final word ("time", in our example).
