I've enabled forum's Jabber service. For those of you who didn't know, Jabber is another instant messaging protocol. What this function allows for users is to receive forum notifications to their Jabber account instead/along with getting an e-mail. Also users can send instant messages to people that have Jabber through the forum.

Of course, for this function to be useful to you you must be using some Jabber-enabled instant messenger. For instance, Google Talk is based on Jabber, so if you're using it, you're good to go. Alternatively, if you're using any multi-protocol messengers (Trillian, Miranda, Adium etc.) you can use their Jabber function as well.

In order to receive forum notifications and messages, you should add a contact divinity.bot@jabber80.com to your Jabber (Google Talk) contact list. It works without authorization. Also you should add your Jabber ID to your forum's profile. And that's it.

I'm not sure if it's gonna work, but I'll also try setting up MSN transport later on. Doing so should make it possible for users to receive messages to their MSN accounts. But don't put hope much into on this. :\

Any questions?

1. Yes, you should be able to change by going to User Control Panel  Profile  Edit account settings.

2. Unfortunately, MSN won't work. And, um, where Google Talk is? It's here.

We're running PHPBB v.3.0.5 now.
A few weeks ago I also installed a MOD for better Automatic DST handling that brought a change from UTC timezones to less confusing region-based timezones, which you can see at the bottom right corner of the page.

Sorry for the downtime, guys. My account was lost by the hoster during the server move, it is restored now. Post in the Bug Reports section if you notice any issues.

Updated our chat to a newer version.
Besides a few bugfixes it now has a big status icon (in the top right corner) displaying the connection status to the server.
Green means the chat is idle.
Orange means the chat is waiting for a response from the server.
Red with an exclamation mark means there was a problem during data transfer.
Also, clicking the icon will force the chat to retry (useful if the connection is lost).

Now you can also set yourself as AFK in the chat. To do this, type "/afk". Doing so will add an (AFK) prefix to your username. AFK status will be removed automatically whenever you post a message.

Finally updated our forum to v3.0.6. The biggest new feature in this release is ATOM feeds that you can subscribe to, a pretty convenient way to follow forum updates without visiting it.
