There's a game similar to this, played it many years back. It's called "Black and white" you play as a god and you can create miracles for the villages or torture them, it's your choice. Your actions changes your appearance as well. You get to choose from many different pets, and your influence will change their appearance too. It was a fun game, hope you try it out Ether ^_^ it's not exactly fable but there's the good/evil thing in it.

Well, "Black & White" was the first thing that came to my mind after Ether asked to point her to similar games. After all, it's a game from the same designer - Peter Molyneux. But "Fable" is an RPG while "Black & White" is an RTS game, so I decided not to mention it, since these games are not really similar, are they? But now that I remembered she likes "Warcraft"... sure, you should try "Black & White" then. :P

Ok I'll try to get a copy of that :) '99, though...that's going to be a really old game :o

What about The Witcher and Assassin's Creed? I've heard those are good games but don't know much about them. Just tell me if they're good or not, one of the reasons Fable was so great for me was because I didn't spoil the plot by researching it before getting it.

Never heard of The Witcher, but Assassin's Creed is a good game, it's basically a run-around-and-kill-people-while-trying-to-be-stealthy-and-strategic game, I really like it lol, cause you get to kill lots of peoples! >D

There's also a sequel - "Black & White 2" (2005).
"The Witcher" and "Assassin's Creed" are both great.
I found "The Witcher" to be a really good RPG. It's more story-driven then usual PC RPGs, but it's exactly what I want such RPGs to be. The atmosphere there is quite dark fantasy, somehow it feels more mature, serious and closer to reality than, say, "Oblivion". Nice graphics, interesting to play, based on the famous Polish fantasy book series... Get it. But I'd recommend getting an original (Polish) voiceovers, as Polish dub is considered to be the best one. I might have it somewhere, if you're not able to find it.
As for "Assassin's Creed", haven't played it yet, but planning to. I've seen and heard quite a lot about it, and it seems definitely like my kind of game. And not because you can kill lots of people in it. *lol*

Can I get the polish version online? I doubt it'll show up at a local Gamestop.

I looked at the rating and though "M" doesn't dissuade me the "Strong Sexual Content" bit sorta worries me.

And is the sequel for Black and White good?

AAAAAARGH I hope Fable II goes onto the PC soon...but my comp probably wouldn't be able to run it >:(

I don't know about B&W2 much, never played it, so can't tell.

You don't want to get Polish version, only Polish voiceovers (unless you want all in-game text in Polish as well). And sure you won't be able to buy a Polish version in the US for that matter, it's only available in Poland. :P I meant to download polish voiceovers. It's a single file of around 500MB+.
As for sexual content, main character is handsome and women tend to like him, so... Well, you don't have to get into anything, it's up to you, and it's nothing graphic anyway, but they talk about it quite openly at times.
