to be honest isnt MS kinda the same in the matter of your life?
ive played WOW and its actually easier to lvl cause its quest based and u can pvp and such.
Its actually pretty good, but thats just my opinion, my brother plays it and he got pwned by lich king :D

Did you try a clean installation of Windows?

I got a laptop a few weeks ago that crashes spontaneously like that, pain in the %$@&#. Would still do so even after clean install, so I had to return it. But considering that your comp is not new... hmm.
